DW Project Late July & Early August 2018
***Big Yellow School Bus***
August has always been vacation month for our faithful supporters-dedicated followers of God who show their love by their generous response to our DW projects through the year.
But! I missed the bus in July, the big, yellow school bus! SHAME ON ME!!! School starts August 16th. We still have some time to show we want to provide for needy children-struggling families-if we hurry. But why don’t we make this easy…If you would be willing to give a monetary gift, that would be great. Can we do this by August 12th? Time is short. I hear the school bells ringing.
Forgive me for falling down on the job.
Thank you, Almighty God, for our loving church family who makes this project worth doing.
Mark you envelopes and checks “DW”-memo “school”.
See you in September.-Disciples Women Read the bulletin here.
The Project for July 2018 Disciples Women Budget
It has been three years since we have put out a plea for help. As you all know – money goes out faster than it comes in (much like home). Our “pockets” are getting empty but the expenses keep coming. We could borrow from our funeral fund but that would only create another dilemma.
We want to continue what we do in DW, but we cannot without money. We are a very worthwhile group, but without your prayers and monetary gifts, we cannot do all we do.
We continue to thank you for the wonderful response to our projects this year and in the past. We could not have done it without you. God bless each and every one of you. Make any check to DW with “Budget Project” in the memo and we thank you sincerely. Read the bulletin here.
Disciples Women June 2018 Project
Would YOU like to help save a life today? Give sight in one day to a child or adult with cataracts? Remove a disfiguring facial tumor obstructing an airway or a person’s ability to eat causing them to starve? Repair legs that are backward or so bowed they cannot walk? Will you? The list is endless.
Remember Mercy Ships, sailing port to port, bringing help and hope to many who’ve never seen a doctor because they were too poor? The afflicted walk for days covering hundreds of miles, sell everything they own-for their once in a lifetime chance to be treated.
Some so disfigured have spent their lives hiding because they were shunned-never able to marry, work or attend school because people were afraid of them.
Mercy Ships have a volunteer crew of about 450 from 50 countries who pay to work on this ship for 2 weeks to 2 years-giving hope, love, and mercy.
We are all God’s children. He trusts us to take care of those in desperate need-strangers we’ll never meet but who are grateful for what you are doing for them. We are all blessed by living in America. It is our job to care of our brothers and sisters in other countries too.
Please reread an earlier write-up and see pictures in the Narthex. Tell me your heart doesn’t ache. Please, please be generous. We thank you and they do too. We invite our church family to join us in saving lives. Mark envelopes and checks to Disciples Women for Mercy Ships. Bless you all. Read this week's bulletin here.
Disciples Women - May 2018 Project
Summer is just around the corner and Camp Tawakoni is awaiting the arrival of many young people.
Let’s support our young people seeking Christian activities. At Camp Tawakoni they develop leadership qualities and have many opportunities to enjoy fellowship and fun.
We ask the congregation’s help in providing supplies for Camp Tawakoni. No money, only supplies please. Items the camp could use include: paper towels, toilet tissue, napkins, liquid dish and hand soap, laundry detergent, toilet cleaner, 39 gallon or drum size trash bags, tall kitchen trash bags, gallon size Ziploc bags, Crockpot liners, paper plates, and white tea towels.
We are grateful to each and every one of you for your support, caring, and love. Place your items in the box in the Narthex. Read the bulletin here.
